Booking Timing & Wardrobe Guide
Let’s Chat: When to Book & What to Wear
Booking Your Session: Timing Is Everything
To achieve the beautiful, glowing light you see in our images, timing matters. Here’s a guide to help you choose the ideal outdoor session window based on the season:
• Spring: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Summer: 6:00 PM – 8:00PM
• Fall: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Winter: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
These time frames are based on when natural light is at its most flattering. When booking your session on our website, please be sure to select a time within these windows. We’ll take care of finding the perfect location!
Indoor Sessions & Natural Light
We do not use artificial studio lighting—not because we don’t know how, but because we choose to work exclusively with natural light to preserve the soft, organic aesthetic we’re known for.
Indoor sessions can be scheduled during the following windows:
• Spring & Summer: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Fall & Winter: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
On rainy or overly dark days, we generally recommend rescheduling. The exception is newborn sessions—baby-only (no siblings or parents). These can still be done indoors.
What to Wear: Creating Timeless, Beautiful Imagery
When you look at an image & it looks so delicious,
it’s because the vibe is there, the clothes are on point
and the lighting is the bitter warmth of golden beauty.
Our editing thrives on natural light and earthy, neutral tones.
While you’re welcome to wear what you love,
we highly recommend sticking to warm,
muted, and creamy colors.
These tones not only reduce distractions in the image
but also create a timeless aesthetic and help us maintain a consistent editing flow
—which can speed up your gallery delivery, too!
We’ll also have provided a year-round style and color palette reference (below) to help coordinate outfits for everyone in your session.
Remember: It’s a guide, not a requirement—but a little wardrobe planning goes a long way!
